continuation on music production AUDACITY for the light users and basicly anyone!!

my previous blogpost did mention on what i use to do raw demo for the band arsoniste. From there, that inspires me to give a tutorial. hihihihi. 10 steps to create ur own music! :p :p

1.) u need audacity (it's less than 5mb excellent!!) to record ur track by tracks. audacity create different tracks during recording. up to i don't know but i've done more than 20 tracks mixed together and it's still okayh! plus, it's really user friendly!! can do allsorts of effects to ur sounds anytime u want. u just gotta explore it's functions.

2.) if u don't have a vdrums, fruityloops is the solution(although it still sounds digitalish~). it combines different types of drum loops base on what u like and "design it urself" patterns! den create ur own playlist. for more info on how to use this, visit utube. ;p ;p ;p

3.) u nid a palak guitar cable to palak microphone size converter thingy. can be found at electrical shop for rm2. :p the concept? line in recording. so that u don't get weird noise coming in while recording externally. xD

4.) for vocals, same concept as instruments step 3. BUT, use earphones for playback instead. THIS IS A MUST. because the mic can capture ur playback sound if it's on speaker like dohhh. hihihihi.

5.) record dem all! one by one!

6.) adjust the volumes, once done mixing it will be split into stereo sound. so u can play around on what sound keluar on ur left and right speakers. hihihihi.

7.) mix around, be creative if u wanna.

8.) the outcome?? ur own home music production! pretty light! hihi.

9.) okayh, there's no nid for step 9 and 10. hehehe...

practise makes perfect. 1st time doin this my sound sux, took me 8 hours to do junk! hehehe. now? i ordy know my settings so record the whole thing takes less than an hour. boooyaaaaa mintak puji.

what do i normally do on a saturday?? dating lerr~ hehehehhee. sometimes with friends. normally it's shopping, play futsal, go beach, dining, jamming, and errr..i think that's about it.

today i woke up at 6.45am(wow). datz early for me. went for breakfast with alex den join him watch him play futsal. got tournament at arena sukan. den go fix his digi sim card at spring. i feel soo bad...i accidentally lost his sim card with all his contacts. he was soo mad..huhuhu..so we went back to spring to look for it and thank god found it at the carpark. i was praying all the wayyy hoping can find. weeeee!!!!

after dat, go to sungai rayu. wth~ akakakaka. boy bring us go matang kononnya. end up drifted further away til we reach lundu. i had fun swimming in the river. lamak ordy sik doe. xD

den today, junkyard wants his pendrive back urgently. and miss C is staying 40 minutes drive away from UNIMAS. he wants it urgently coz his final year project is in it. OH WHY OH WHY are you so stupid to save you FYP in ur pendrive?? where's ur fakkin laptop?? and why oh why if that pendrive is sooo importanttt why diddd you past it to us at the first place??? why didn't u burn ur assignment in a fakkin CDR???!!! dumbass.. LOL

i believe in practise does not make things perfect but u do improve. LOL. I think i can write songs already. all i nid to do is set a theme, create a melody, den throw any lyrics base on that theme!! yea, it will turn out weird not ryhming, grammar sot2, BUT, once done with the raw lyrics, it can be fine tuned! hihihihihi. some handy tips for ppl having difficulty writing stuff.

My/our version on how we create a new song

1.) Start off with me main2 guitar, test2 riff here der, and Pearl will say keep that/dont keep that. Brainstorming starts with the guitar.

2.) once done, me do pilot(test2) drumloop using fruityloops.



3.) put in the other parts guitars/bass/drums and lyrics(all of it just pilot guitar parts) lyrics normally past to pearl coz she's good in making emo lyrics. LOLLLL. lyrics and melody step is the best! so fun and funny. lolzllzlzlzlz.(oh ya before we susa2 do lyrics, we let the rest listen to the melody first. Alex will comment whether the song is lame/not. Qeeya will be the cop SIRIM, as in whether he sense any plagiarism or not. lolzlzlzlzllz

4.) d raw demo is completed by using Audacity(thanx to drummer eclipse for recommending me this very user friendly track by track music software.



5.) distribute to all the bandmates to listen and create their own drumloops, lead guitar, how the vocals can be better etc2..

6.) test2 jamming..

7.) test2 bawa pegi gig

8.) do proper demo recording in studio if we love it!!

well, that's how Arsoniste - Within The Broken Path was created. future original materials may vary. hehehhe. Alex has his materials already which i love alot! myself got another one too. I'm waiting for school holidays do all this. hehhehehe. So, that does not mean we're fading away. It's just time factor and doing things base on priority. xDDD

p/s: therefore people, to create new songs doesn't need to have all band mates to be at the same place at all time. busy2 nei also can ma. can do it in the comfort of own home. hihihi. It's easy for pearl and i because we constantly chat online almost everynite. LOLZLZLZ. Why do we create raw demo? Well, not to be released actualy, so that it's easier for the other bandmates to 'get' the song.

Today i went shopping!! Well, before that, i need to cerita something bigger than the shopping part... ALEXX!!! ALEXX!!! he gave me his guitar!!! OMG!! ZOMG!!! He fakkin gave me his guitar!! I made him repeat his lines 5 times to be sure. I give u the guitar..SAY AGAIN?? i give u the guitar..and again!! i give u the guitar!!! u get the picture...hehehhehehee.. He gave me the OLP guitar coz he thinks the image goes well with me, not him. OMG im so happy.. anyways, i take it as borrowing the guitar from him...LONG TERM!!! :P :P

So...today i went shopping with my eternal frenship friend. lolzlzlzlzlz. We went to Hock Lee, went to lepo to survey guitar amps, and i bought myself new electric guitar strings for the OLP guitar! can i say it my guitar? why not!! let me rephrase..bought myself new guitar strings for my OLP guitar!! LOLZLZLZ feels so good to say that.. and i bought guitar cables as well.. and when for jam solo session suka2. I wanna buy a guitar effect, but still surveying. I don't wanna buy stuff alang2..hehehe. even guitar, i can afford buy a guitar under rm1k but i dont wanna..i wanna save and buy my GIBSON SG!!!!!!!! (when i start working)....

For now, i need to do my assignment which i accidentally forgot to save last night first....den start adoring my gadgets..hihihihi..change guitar strings!! i bought black coated guitar strings which cost me rm55 after bodek2ing...

The Making Of...

Arsoniste - Within the broken path proper demo recording.

hehehe, finally we had the time to do proper demo in ah how's jam studio. Me envy with the equipments in his studio. the vocal effect thingy,his mixer is the two things that caught my eyes the most. sakai berabis and envynesss... hihihihihi... So how's the process? start off with ryhtm guitar(me), bass(pearl) and drums(kiya). Just to ensure the drums maintained his tempo datz d most important part. Anyways, qeeya have no tempo problem at all which makes thing so much easierrrr.. After done with the drums, off to guitars back if any improvisation needed. Once all the tracks done, vocals come in and that's when i see that vocal effect monster which is soo cool and i wanna get one!!! kiikikiki... Once everything done, we get to listen roughly how it sounds like stereoly which is soo coool and i was soo happy after recording is done. Pearl's bass line is so awesome which i never realised, max finally got the suitable lead after stressing himself out along the way, kesian dia. hehehe. suara alex omg mmg artist. hehehehehe.. I'll get the demo by tomorrow. yay!!!

change guitar strings and cleaned my acoustic guitar!!! weee!!!

Well, what made this time soo special compared to the hundreds of times of me replacing my guitar strings>?? I cleaned the whole guitar body!!!

Before that...and why is that such a big deal?? Well...before this, i NEVER bothered to really2 clean my guitar or maintain it from scratches of watsover..When the neck gets broken, repair, when the wood cracked, put in some wood filling, when the guitar strap connector came off, just repair it..So yea, that acoustic Yamaha of mine has gone through all sort of pain.. miahahaha. and i never bother to take care of it as long as it nails it's responsibilities.. teheee


My Yamaha Acoustic Guitar. Bought it for rm500 back in August 1998 by my dad, used by the whole family mainly my elder sister who's like me like to do acoustic covers and create original materials(me less in that) and post them online. Back den it was Xanga blog and (shyt i forgot the name of that music website) it has charts and she was somewhere behind switchfoot in the leaderboard. LOL. Now the guitars' price is around rm300 at Lee music Centre Hock Lee. And now the guitar belongs to me since my dad bought a new acoustic guitar which is wayy cooler than this yamaha. I hatethe new ashton guitar, nice body but not the type of sound and neck feel that i want. xD. So since lately, the yamaha is definitely mine! xD

So today i went shopping with alex bought Ernie Ball Xtra Light Strings and Fast Fret to maintain my new strings, i wanna maintain them this time(for the first time). Alex taught me this NEW habit to take good care of guitars...HAHAHAHA.. SO, FIRST TIME TAKING GOOD CARE ON MY OWN GUITAR...



So i took off all the old strings, all 6 of ems...Reason why i bought Fast fret is to clean the strings and the fretboard...BUT!!!! MY OH ZZZOMG!!!! i just realised today that my yamaha's fret board is soooooo mouldy, dusty, dirty!!!! It has this thick2 coklat2 substance on it. EUWWW!!(i wonder, all this while i play the guitar touching comfy2 cushion mould on the fretboard..errr...dont wanna think any further..maybe it's just a way of my guitar showing revenge for not taking good care of it..) hahahahahah!!! So i had to scrub it off, brush it off, dry it off, den scrab even more without damaging the fretboard and luckily it works!! my oh my...how come i never knew..So the cleaning process of my acoustic guitar took me longer time than expected!!! HAHHAHAHA...coz i NEVERRR cleaned the fretboard my entire life!!! all i do i just dust of the loose dust if there's any. LOL.

Once done getting rid of the heavy duty dirt on the guitar, i start polishing the fretboard with fast fret. It a white mineral oil thingy dat u glide on the strings and board to clean off and polish at same time. Den start pasang string..

End result?? My Yamaha guitar felt 10 years younger!! LOL.. it's 11 years old already.
